August 04, 2012
Hi my tennis friends,

Just a few days ago, I made my predictions on the tennis gold medalist for the London 2012 Olympics. I predicted that Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova will win the gold medal.

Well, as of now, my predictions are still on track. Both players are in the finals!

Murray progressed to the finals after a brilliant 7-5 7-5 victory over Djokovic in the semi-final.

His opponent in tomorrow's gold medal match is Roger Federer, who took four hours and 26 minutes to beat Juan Martin Del Potro 3-6 7-6 (7/5) 19-17.

Federer has beaten Murray in the last Wimbledon final. If Murray can play supremely aggressive against Federer, I can say that he stands a very good chance.

What about Sharapova?

The third seed, who is playing in her first Games and carried Russia's flag at the Opening Ceremony, continued her fine form on the Wimbledon grass this week to win Kirilenko 6-2 6-3.

In the finals today, Sharapova will face Wimbledon champion Serena Williams, who continued her romp through the draw with a 6-1 6-2 win over world number one Victoria Azarenka.

For Sharapova to win, she has to serve well and move well against Serena Williams powerful groundstrokes.

Both ladies are aiming to become only the second woman after Steffi Graf to win all four grand slams and the Olympic title in their career.

The stakes are high.

Let me know what you think about the finals today and tomorrow. I am very excited to watch these mouth watering matches.

Enjoy!
